Welcome to the Port Washington/Saukville Jaycees. The Jaycees are an organization dedicated to community service and leadership training of young people.
The purpose of the Jaycees is stated as: "To promote and foster the growth and development of young persons. civic organizations in the United States, designed to inculcate (to teach and impress upon) in the individual membership of such organization a spirit of genuine Americanism and civic interest, and...to provide them with opportunity for personal development and achievement and an avenue for intelligent participation...in the affairs of the community, state, and nation, and to develop true friendship and understanding among young persons of all nations."
Simply put, the purpose of the local chapter is to become a force for good in the community, determining community needs and providing solutions by planning and facilitating community service projects. In the act of serving, members receive hands-on experience, which translates to the enhancement of personal growth and the development of valuable leadership skills. This is the total Junior Chamber Concept.
The Port Washington/Saukville Jaycees have been providing services to this community since February 1948. With projects and programs ranging from children's sports, financial management workshops, blood drives, community fundraising efforts, and scholarship programs, the Jaycees have strived to be a positive influence in the Port Washington/Saukville community.
The Port Washington/Saukville Jaycees welcome all interested members of the community to join them at their monthly General Membership meeting. This is open to the public, and is an excellent opportunity to learn more about our organization and membership benefits.
Monthly Meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month, 7 pm, in the lower level of the Saukville Village Hall.
